
Popular evangelist, Joni Lamb, who co-founded one of America’s largest Christian networks, Daystar Television Network, died on May 7, 2026. She was 65 at the time of her death. Joni faced serious medical issues, which rapidly deteriorated after a recent back injury heightened her health challenges. However, even amid the dire conditions, Joni was able to spend her final moments at her home in Bedford, Texas. Her untimely demise brought her personal life, including her two marriages, back into the spotlight. Before her death, she spoke about both her first and second husbands, sharing her dynamics with them.

Joni Lamb found her second husband, Douglas Weiss, at a time when she was navigating immense grief from the loss of her first spouse, Marcus Lamb. According to PEOPLE, Joni and Doug began dating nearly seven months after Marcus’ death. At that time, Doug served as an oasis in Joni’s deserted life. He added hues of joy to her colourless life and healed her broken self. Speaking about how meeting him changed her life, Joni stated:
