Twisha Sharma’s death has shocked the entire nation to its core. For the unversed, the 33-year-old former model was found dead at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12, 2026. It was in December 2025 when Twisha tied the knot with Bhopal-based criminal lawyer, Samarth Singh. However, within a few months of the marriage, issues began to crop up between the couple. Her death led to multiple legal formalities and two postmortems, which eventually delayed her cremation.

According to Hindu tradition, a person’s last rites should take place within 13 days of the mourning period. However, Twisha’s body was caught between post-mortem formalities and forensic procedures for two weeks, which delayed the last rites rituals. As the family received Twisha’s body, her brother, Major Harshit Sharma, stepped forward to light his sister’s funeral pyre at Bhadbhada Vishram Ghat in Bhopal.
