In a piece of heartbreaking news, Bengali filmmaker, Anik Dutta, at the age of 60, passed away on May 27, 2026, in Kolkata. According to reports on social media, Anik had sustained severe injuries after he fell from the roof of his home in Kolkata. Some reports mention that Anik was 58 at the time of his demise and was taken to a hospital near Dhakuria. He was in a critical state and could not make it till the end.
Bengali filmmaker, Anik Dutta succumbed to his injuries, and reports stated that he was dealing with respiratory health issues for some time now. The Bengali cultural and film community has been mourning the filmmaker’s loss.
