The ongoing controversy around the film Don 3 and Ranveer Singh has taken a new turn, with singer and composer Mika Singh publicly voicing his support for the actor. As a non-cooperation directive was earlier issued against Ranveer, Mika has promised to personally intervene and talk to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to help reach a resolution.
Ranveer, who was announced as the new face of Don in 2023, has found himself at the center of an industry dispute. After his exit from the project, reports emerged that he did so because he had creative differences with Excel Entertainment. According to reports, he was frustrated by production delays and a lack of a finalized script, while preferring a grittier tone for the film compared to the producers’ vision. The situation intensified when it was reported that the makers were exploring other casting options while Ranveer was still attached to the project.

The conflict eventually reached the FWICE after Excel Entertainment allegedly sought Rs 40–45 crore in damages from Ranveer. FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit mentioned that producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani had approached the federation, citing expenditures, including overseas recce trips and hotel bookings. On May 25, the FWICE issued a formal non-cooperation directive against Ranveer, alleging he had failed to respond to repeated summons.
Mika Singh, who has faced similar challenges with the FWICE in the past, said that he knows the body well and hopes to broker peace. Speaking to a media outlet, the singer defended Ranveer’s character, saying, “Ranveer Singh is such a good and down-to-earth person. I know FWICE very well, and I’ll personally meet them and talk to them. After all, we are the bhais.”
While the directive warns that affiliated workers across India would not work with him on future projects until the matter is addressed, Ranveer’s team has maintained a composed stance. In a brief statement, his team mentioned that he has consciously chosen to maintain silence and continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for everyone associated with the Don franchise.
