Condolences pour in from film and political leaders
Soon after news of her demise emerged, several prominent personalities took to social media to express their grief and extend support to Ajith and his family.
Actor-politician Kamal Haasan shared a heartfelt note, writing, “I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Ajith Kumar’s mother, Mrs. Mohini Mani. I extend my heartfelt condolences to Ajith Kumar and his family, who are grieving the loss of their beloved mother.”
DMK president and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also conveyed his sympathies. Reflecting on the bond between a mother and son, he wrote, “May the beautiful moments spent with his mother stand as support for him to recover from this sorrow. My deepest condolences and comfort to Mr. Ajith Kumar and his family.”
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, who has often spoken warmly about Ajith, described the news as deeply upsetting. In his statement, he said, “I was deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Mrs. Mohini Ammaiyar, mother of my dear friend Mr. Ajith Kumar. I pray that her soul rests in peace at the feet of the Almighty.”
He further noted, “I extend my heartfelt condolences to my friend Mr. Ajith Kumar and his family, who are grieving the loss of a loving mother who stood by them and supported them through every phase of life.”

BJP leader K Annamalai also paid tribute, writing, “The news of the demise of Mrs. Mohini, mother of Mr. Ajith Kumar, the actor and racing enthusiast, due to old age, brings immense sorrow. At this hour of grief, I convey my deepest condolences to Mr. Ajith Kumar and his family. I pray that her soul attains the divine feet of the Lord. Om Shanti!”
Apart from political leaders, several members of the Tamil film fraternity and countless fans have shared messages remembering Mohini Mani and standing in solidarity with Ajith and his family during this difficult time.
Family prepares for final rites
According to reports, Mohini Mani’s final rites are expected to be conducted at the family’s residence in Palavakkam, Chennai. Family members, friends and industry colleagues are expected to pay their last respects.
