Tumbbad 2, starring Sohum Shah, is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2027. Directed by Adesh Prasad, the movie is currently under production. As per recent developments, the makers have built a massive set for the movie in Mumbai’s Madh Island. While the details of the scenes being shot in the set have been kept under the wraps, sources reveal that the sprawling set has become one of the key production hubs for the sequel. Filmfare has received some news on that front, as our source has revealed interesting details about the scale of the set and the extensive work that has gone into bringing the world of Tumbbad 2 to life.
Our source shared, “The massive set of Tumbbad built in Madh Island in Mumbai spans several acres. The team spent over six months erecting the grand set and they have been shooting continuously there since then. In fact, the area has now become so closely associated with the film that locals popularly refer to it as the ‘Tumbbad Ground.’ “
Nawazuddin Siddiqui has officially come on board for the much-awaited sequel to the acclaimed folk-horror franchise, Tumbbad. He will share screen space with Shah in the dark fantasy thriller. Interestingly, our source has also revealed that Nawazuddin has been on the set to shoot his portions. The source said, “Nawaz is currently shooting for the last leg of his schedule. He had a working Eid recently. He was shooting there on the sets.”
The film is presently under production and is slated for a theatrical release on December 3, 2027.
