Dharma Productions has officially announced the release date for its upcoming theatrical project, Lag Ja Gale. The film, which features a lead cast including Janhvi Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, and Lakshya, will release in cinemas on May 14, 2027.
The production house shared the announcement, describing the project as an intense action entertainer. While specific details about the film’s plot are currently being kept under wraps, the casting brings together Tiger, who is known for his action-heavy roles, alongside Janhvi and Lakshya. For Janhvi, this project represents another collaboration with Dharma Productions, a studio that has backed several of her films throughout her career. The film is set to be directed by Raj Mehta, whose previous directorial credits include Good Newwz and JugJugg Jeeyo. Lag Ja Gale is expected to be one of the major releases for Dharma Productions in 2027.
This announcement comes at a time when Janhvi has been making headlines due to an ongoing controversy around her project, Peddi. She recently found herself at the centre of discussions after alleged private chats related to that film surfaced online. These messages seemed to suggest concerns about the visual portrayal of her character, which eventually sparked debate on social media. A section of netizens have called out the makers for still opting for the objectification of the female lead in the movie despite seeing films now which feature layered female characters who actually serve towards the plot of the film.
On the work front, Lakshya was last seen in Chand Mera Dil opposite Ananya Panday while Tiger was seen in Baaghi 4 which released last year. Alongside him, the cast also starred Sanjay Dutt, Sonam Bajwa and Harnaaz Sandhu. As of now, further details about the production, cast, and narrative of Lag Ja Gale have not been disclosed by the makers.
