Megastar Chiranjeevi is gearing up for an action-packed role in his upcoming film with director Bobby Kolli, tentatively titled MEGA158. The actor has reunited with the Waltair Veerayya director for the project, with principal photography having commenced earlier this year after the makers finalised the film’s look and visual design.
Major action schedule underway
The team is currently filming one of the movie’s key action sequences. Choreographed by the acclaimed stunt duo Ram-Lakshman Masters, who have collaborated with Chiranjeevi on several films over the years, the sequence reportedly features large-scale action involving a team of stunt performers.
While details of the schedule remain under wraps, industry buzz suggests the film will present Chiranjeevi in a physically demanding role with a grounded, action-oriented approach. The scale of the ongoing shoot reflects the high expectations surrounding the actor’s reunion with Bobby Kolli following the success of Waltair Veerayya.
Bankrolled by Venkat K. Narayana under KVN Productions, the film is currently in the middle of a massive action schedule in Hyderabad.
The project also features a multi-lingual cast including Anaswara Rajan, Priyamani, and Rachita Ram.
Thaman is composing the soundtrack while Cinematography is by Vijay Karthik Kannan (Jailer fame). The team recently wrapped up their first high-energy schedule in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu
Busy slate ahead
Apart from MEGA158, Chiranjeevi will also be seen in the socio-fantasy film Vishwambhara, directed by Mallidi Vassishta of Bimbisara fame. The VFX-heavy film is expected to hit theatres during the Dussehra festive season, although an official release date is yet to be announced.
Chiranjeevi was last seen in Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, directed by Anil Ravipudi and co-starring Nayanthara. Released during Sankranthi this year, the commercial entertainer emerged as a major box-office success despite receiving mixed reviews.
With Vishwambhara and MEGA158 progressing simultaneously, Chiranjeevi has an eventful slate ahead.
