Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie has been making headlines since its release. The show is an adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s novel by the same name. Now that Season 1 of the show has come to an end, let’s take a look at what happened and what’s in store for Season 2. Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Little House on the Prairie ending explained
All seemed keen with the townsfolk during the dance when two men started shouting outside. ‘Russell Kind’ screamed at ‘Eli’ and punched him in the face, saying, ” He’s a snake! He lured us all here to watch us get thrown out of our homes.” The deal with the Osage is complete, and the government will kick all the newbies off their claims unless they pay up in the next two weeks. While the Homestead Act isn’t good in Independence now that the government has bought the land, the government now seeks a return on its investment.
“Eli and his railroad sold us a lie! And now we’re left with the bill”, ‘Russell’ explains to ‘Charles’ as the government demands USD 1.50 an acre, a task that is impossible for ‘Charles’. Anyone who doesn’t have it will be kicked off the island, and as thunder rumbles in the background, ‘Charles’ realises what it means for his family. ‘Eli’ offers to help him by making him a foreman on the railroad. However, he would have to leave his family for a year. Nonetheless, disgusted by ‘Eli’, he refuses to shake on it.
