The actor is currently hitting the headlines for allegedly misbehaving with a minor. The complainant had filed an FIR against the actor, following which he was detained by the Mumbai Police. Rohit Chandel, best known for his roles in Pandya Store, Sairaab, and Kashibai Bajirao Ballal, has been booked on several counts of misdemeanour. The Pant Nagar Police arrested the 29-year-old actor from his Dahisar residence on Friday, July 10, 2026. He was charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act alongside sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). As per a complaint by a 16-year-old eastern suburb resident, Rohit allegedly subjected her to continuous harassment by making repeated calls.
Rohit allegedly kept calling the underage girl from his personal phone number as well as multiple other mobile numbers, despite her objections. The case doesn’t end at that; according to police logs, the TV star allegedly confronted the 16-year-old near her residential building on July 5, 2026, chased her, initiated a heated argument, verbally abused her, and physically assaulted her using his hands and no other objects.
