An old interview with the actor went viral on Reddit, where Aamir said that he got married on April 18th, 1986. For the unversed, the interview is from 1988. He revealed that he had kept his marriage hidden ahead of the release of his debut film, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The actor said:
“Yeh shadi ke bare mei sirf 5 log jante thei., Mera matlab hai mei aur Reena ke alava 5 log. 3 joh gawah thei aur 2 aur mere dost. Mere father, Reena ke parents koi nai janta tha meri shadi hui hai. Aur November 1986 mei sabko pata lag chuka tha, family mei. Toh uss time daddy ne yeh kaha tha ki aur Reena ke parents joh mere in laws hai ki yeh shadi announce na kare. Film release hoh jaye.”
