Veteran Bollywood actress and Samajwadi Party MP, Jaya Bachchan has made a strong remark about the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela, 2025. She said that the river Ganga in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, where millions are taking a dip during the ongoing Kumbh Mela, has contaminated water. This is because of the people who were killed in the recent Maha Kumbh stampede, their bodies were dumped in the Ganges.
Jaya Bachchan makes strong statement on Maha Kumbh Mela water being contaminated
A video by ANI has gone viral where Jaya questioned the UP government to provide figures for the number of deaths that took place during the Kumbh Mela stampede. Jaya had spoken to reporters outside the Parliament recently and said that the most contaminated water right now is in the Kumbh. Bodies of those who died in the stampede have been thrown in the river because of which the water has been contaminated. This is the water which is being used by the people there. No one has clarified this. In her words:
“Jal shakti ke upar sawal uthaye gaye. Pehle mei bhi contaminated water ke upar kafi kuch bol chuki hu. Sabse zyada contaminated water ess waqt Kumbh mei hai. Uske liye koi safai nai dere. Bodies joh pani mei dal di gayi hai. Ussei pani contaminated hua hai. Yahi pani logo tak pahuch raha hai waha. Eske upar kooi safai nai dere hai aur pura eyewash kia jara hai aur sawal uthare.”
