Sooraj Barjatya recently shared an interesting behind-the-scenes story about his iconic film Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! While Madhuri Dixit is now unforgettable as Nisha, she wasn’t the first choice for the role. Barjatya initially considered Karisma Kapoor after being impressed by her work in Prem Qaidi.
However, his father, Rajkumar Barjatya, felt Karisma was too young for the part since Nisha’s character required playing a mature figure who accepts on-screen children as her own. He advised choosing someone who could carry that responsibility better. That’s how Madhuri came on board and delivered a legendary performance.
The film became a cultural phenomenon, known for its grand wedding scenes, emotional depth, and Raamlaxman’s hit soundtrack with 14 songs. Now, Barjatya is set to return with a new family drama featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, who will play the new Prem. Filming starts this summer.
