Sonakshi Sinha married her best friend, Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, 2024. The couple surprised all their fans and well-wishers with their private wedding, which was followed by a grand reception. Sonakshi and Zaheer dated for seven years before getting married on the same date when they had first met. However, ever since they got married, people haven’t stopped trolling the couple. Sonakshi had to take a bold step and switch off the comment section on her wedding post.
Sonakshi Sinha shares why she turned off the comments section on her wedding day
Sonakshi and Zaheer had a civil marriage at her posh Bandra residence. Their friends and families were present on their big day, but when the couple shared their first wedding snaps, they had to turn off the comments section. In an interview with Hauterrfly, Sonakshi shared how trolls affected her and Zaheer on their big day. She revealed that, just leading up to the marriage, there was a lot of noise. In her words:
“Bahut log etna sara bakwas kar rahe thei that you had to literally just switch off. Kaan tak aata tha. That’s why we put our comments off. On my big day that I have been waiting for so liong mujhe yeh bakwas dekhni hi nai hai. The collateral damage of that was people who actually wished well for me I could’t read their messages also. But like I said humne ess tarah mei shadi ki whoever showered us with love and was genuinely happy for us that made the day even more special.”
