Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker and his wife, Sunita Gowariker’s son Konark Gowariker has tied the knot with Niyati Kanakia. Niyati is the daughter of Rasesh Babubhai Kanakia, a renowned real estate magnate and the owner of Kanakia Builders. The wedding was a lavish affair with star-studded pre-wedding festivities.
Konark and Niyati tied the knot on March 2, 2025. The pre-wedding celebrations had begun earlier, notably on the last week of February. The haldi ceremony happened on February 28, which was attended by close friends and family. Several pictures and videos from the function surfaced online, giving fans a sneak peek into the functions. Actress Shazahn Padamsee, filmmaker Ayan Mukerji and other close friends were seen enjoying the event alongside the couple and their families.
In one of the viral clips, Konark and Niyati can be seen enjoying dance performances dedicated to them. Ashutosh and Sunita Gowariker were also clicked celebrating with their loved ones while blessing the couple. Ashutosh Gowariker danced to several songs, one being the famous track Mitwa from Lagaan.
A few days before the wedding, Ashutosh and Sunita met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally invite him to their son’s wedding. A picture of the couple standing with Modi while holding the wedding invitation went viral on social media.
