In a gesture that underlines his deeply personal approach to filmmaking, Aamir Khan travelled to Murshidabad to meet singer Arijit Singh for the recording of Ek Din’s first song. Aamir Khan Productions has now unveiled a special video capturing the heartfelt collaboration behind the film’s title track.
Reports of Arijit Singh’s possible retirement had earlier sparked speculation across the music industry. Determined to have the singer’s voice shape the emotional core of Ek Din, Aamir personally visited Murshidabad and spent four days with Arijit and his family. The visit was not just professional but intimate, reflecting Aamir’s belief in building creative partnerships rooted in trust and understanding.

Arijit, widely regarded as one of India’s most beloved playback singers, ultimately came on board to lend his voice to the romantic drama starring Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan. Aamir later shared a poster thanking the singer, effectively putting retirement rumours to rest and confirming the collaboration.
The newly released special video offers glimpses of warm, behind-the-scenes moments from Murshidabad. It shows Aamir actively participating in discussions, listening closely during rehearsals, and working alongside Arijit and the music team to fine-tune every detail of the track. The title song, described as a timeless love anthem, features poignant lyrics and a melody designed to linger with listeners.
Known for his meticulous creative involvement, Aamir’s presence throughout the recording process once again highlights his hands-on style. Beyond being a producer, he is also supporting his son Junaid Khan’s journey in the film industry, adding an emotional layer to the project. Ek Din thus becomes more than just another release; it represents both a creative reunion and a personal milestone.
The film also marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and filmmaker Mansoor Khan after a long hiatus. The duo previously delivered memorable films such as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Akele Hum Akele Tum and Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. With Ek Din, they return to the romance genre, rekindling anticipation among audiences.
Produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit, and directed by Sunil Pandey, Ek Din is set to hit theatres on May 1, 2026.
