Megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently shared a reflective note on his blog, opening up about what he called “prosthetic wisdom” and how people often miss the deeper meaning behind words. Posting a picture of himself as Ashwatthama from his upcoming film Kalki 2, the veteran actor hinted that even when thoughts are expressed clearly, they do not always land the way they are meant to.
He wrote, “Isse pehle jo likha, sab ka sab bouncer gaya, Ji haan huzoor, bouncer. Kisi ko bhi jo asal baat kahi ja rahi thi, samajh mein hi nahin aayi, achha hai. Kuch baatein batane se bhi samajh mein nahin aati logon ko; sansaar ka ravayya yahi hota hai. Khair, jaane do (sic).” Through this, he suggested that some truths, no matter how directly spoken, are not easily understood, and perhaps that is simply how the world functions.
Reflecting further on knowledge and accomplishment, he added, “You can never be the wisest , the most knowledge driven , the most accomplished human ever .. there shall ever always be another better than you .. know it , accept it and be in learning to keep at it (sic).” His words underline the importance of humility and constant learning, reminding readers that growth is an ongoing journey.
Speaking about individuality, he concluded, “Better to be at it than to , slink into the other humans life to acquire .. that can never be your own .. so delve deep into your assets and drive the body to its ultimate horizon .. which incidentally never does get reached .. Oh ! what a lovely world we live in .. prosthetic wisdom (sic) !!!”
Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, features an ensemble cast including Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. Set in a dystopian 2898 AD in Kashi, the film revolves around a mission to protect SUM 80’s unborn child, believed to be Kalki, the final incarnation of Vishnu.
