On Saturday, April 11, 2026, the veteran singer had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai on an emergency basis after she suffered extreme exhaustion and a chest infection, as confirmed by her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle. Contrary to some sources that mentioned she had a cardiac arrest, she was suffering from severe respiratory and chest-related issues. She remained in the ICU, and sadly, on Sunday, April 12, her condition worsened. According to doctors, Bhosle suffered multi-organ failure shortly before her passing.
