Dhurandhar 2 Runtime: Is The Sequel Shorter Than The First Film?

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar : The Revenge is all set to hit theatres on March 19, with its trailer is likely to drop in the first week of the month. The Aditya Dhar directorial, which is set to clash with Yash’s Toxic, has already completed its certification process with the Central Board of Film Certification. The CBFC has cleared the film, and details regarding its runtime and rating are now available on the official website. The first instalment turned out to be a blockbuster in 2025 and kept audiences engaged despite its lengthy 3 hours and 35 minutes runtime. The sequel however is slightly shorter.

Dhurandhar 2

As per the CBFC website, Dhurandhar 2 has been granted a UA 16+ certificate and was certified on February 9. The film runs for 208 minutes, which translates to 3 hours and 28 minutes. Interestingly, the first part had an additional four minute post credit scene, which extended its overall duration beyond the mentioned runtime.

Online reports, which remain unverified, suggest that the sequel will trace the rise of Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, as Sher e Baloch following Rehman Dakait’s death. The story is said to revolve around the Bleed Pakistan with 1000 Cuts counter mission, focusing on dismantling the Karachi underworld and the ISI’s financial network. The mystery around Bade Sahab’s identity is also expected to be revealed. Major Iqbal and SP Chaudhary Aslam reportedly join forces to uncover Jaskirat’s true identity. Yami Gautam is expected to appear in a high octane cameo as a deep cover intelligence operative, while Ajay Sanyal leads a final extraction mission to bring India’s most wanted to justice.

Meanwhile, the film has landed in controversy. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has sought permanent blacklisting of Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios over alleged rule violations during the South Mumbai shoot. The makers were accused of having “violated” police conditions by using crackers and flammable materials that are banned. Despite assurances that it would not be repeated, authorities reportedly received complaints around 12.45 am on February 14 about torches being lit on set. The BMC also objected to terrace shooting and the use of two generator vans without permission, demanding a penalty of Rs 1 lakh and forfeiting the Rs 25,000 security deposit. Reports further claim gas cylinders were used for cooking, breaching regulations, following which the Mumbai Police intervened and seized the equipment, terming it a serious security lapse.
