The search for Nancy Guthrie reached day 25, without any hopeful news regarding the 84-year-old’s survival. The search began on February 1, 2026, after the elderly woman, who isthe mother of Today Show co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie, disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona, home under mysterious circumstances. The Pima County police and the FBI are looking at the case with priority, suspecting kidnapping. Amid that, Savannah offered an additional USD 1 million reward for the recovery of her mother, while also expressing scepticism regarding Nancy being alive.
Does Savannah Guthrie think her mother, Nancy Guthrie, might already be dead?
In a heart-wrenching Instagram video posted on February 24, 2026, Savannah Guthrie acknowledged the harsh reality that her elderly mother, Nancy Guthrie, may no longer be alive. While she previously stated that her family is still blowing on the embers of hope and praying for a miracle, she tearfully processed the possibility that her mother might have “already gone home to the Lord that she loves.” Savannah emotionally stated in the video:
“I’m coming on to say it is day 24 since our mom was taken in the dark of night from her bed, and every hour and minute and second and every long night has been agony since then of worrying about her and fearing about her, aching for her, and most of all just missing her. She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in Heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother Pierce and with our daddy.”
