Exclusive: When Sridevi fondly spoke about Janhvi Kapoors bond with her

The iconic Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018. Since then, fans have been remembering the actress on her death anniversary. While remembering her today, we bring you her last exclusive interview with Filmfare, where she fondly spoke about her love for her daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. While chatting with us, Sridevi also opened up on being closer to Janhvi, while husband Boney Kapoor was closer to their youngest, Khushi.

“I’m closer to Janu and Khushi is closer to Boneyji. But we’re honest with each other and extremely close,” she added. Noting her closeness with Janhvi, the late actress had also said that Janhvi wants her to be by her side when she wakes up. “Till today, every morning when Jhanvi wakes up, the first thing she says is ‘Mama chahiye!’ But Khushi will say ‘Koko chahiye!’ Koko is her pet,” she fondly said.

Speaking about her youngest daughter Khushi, Sridevi had pointed out that she was far more independent than Janhvi. She said, “Khushi and Boneyji gang up against Janu and me all the time.” However, she had also shared being possessive about her daughters. “I’m protective about my girls and hands-on too. I don’t know how not to be. But I’m not possessive… I enjoy feeding my children, oiling their hair, picking out what they should wear… It gives me so much of happiness doing these things for them,” she said.

Sridevi married Boney Kapoor June 2 1996. However, they had kept their wedding a secret till January 1997. They were blessed with two daughters, both of whom followed in the footsteps of their mother and are currently working as actors in Hindi cinema.
