Bollywood’s ‘He Man’, Dharmendra, passed away in November 2025 at his Mumbai home. The veteran actor was 89 when he passed away after suffering from health issues for a long time that included respiratory complications. Dharmendra was hospitalised for a brief period of time. The ‘He-Man’ is known for his epic love story with his ‘Basanti’ a.k.a Hema Malini. The couple was known for their evergreen love story, and now it seems Hema Malini has been dealing with constant breakdowns after the demise of her husband, Dharmendra.

Dharmendra had done classic films and had a career spanning more than sixty years. His notable movies include Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Mera Gaon Mera Desh, which showcased his versatile acting chops. He left an evergreen mark in Hindi cinema and was known for his love story with his ‘Dream Girl’, Hema Malini. The actress sat down for an interview with the Hindustan Times and revealed that she is a strong person but does have breakdowns. This is because for half of her life, she worked as a co-actor with Dharmendra, apart from him being her life partner. A teary-eyed Hema Malini had mentioned:
“What we have done in the past will remains as memories for the audience now. I’m glad that more than half my life was spent as a co-artiste as well as him being my life partner. It’s not possible to accept that he has gone, I think of it and get teary eyed but we have to get out of the sadness and I’m a strong person. However strong you are it’s not possible, breakdown toh hota hai.”
