Priyadarshan’s movie, Hulchul, has been one of the most evergreen comedy movies. However, it has been years since the movie was released, and it is now being touted for fresh controversy. This was after actor, Arshad Warsi described his experience of working in the movie as ‘bad’. He alleged that the role that was promised to him was way bigger than what he ultimately played. Now, director, Priyadarshan has reacted to the claims made by Arshad Warsi.
Is Hulchul director, Priyadarshan upset by Arshad Warsi’s comments on the movie?
Hulchul director, Priyadarshan sat down for an interview with the Mid-Day. He expressed his disappointment after reading about Arshad’s comments and said he was shocked. Priyadarshan remembered a conversation he had with Arshad after the movie’s release, in which the actor expressed his gratitude. This was after Hulchul received a positive response from the fans. Priyadarshan revealed being hurt by Arshad’s comments and said:
“After the release, he called and told me, ‘Priyan sir, I never thought that I would get this kind of appreciation’. I was very upset when I read what he said. I could be wrong and maybe it has been misinterpreted, but if he has complained, I am shocked. Why would he say that when it was one of my hit films? I am very upset and deeply hurt by these accusations from Arshad. He had no reason to complain.”
