This week, rumours claimed that a shooting schedule for Jr NTR’s Dragon had been halted or fully cancelled because the actor and director Prashanth Neel was unhappy with the hero’s new look (reportedly after a weight transformation/prep phase). Turns out that the news is false.

Mythri Movie Makers today issued a categorical statement denying the rumour. “There is absolutely no truth to the rumours circulating about the look or any schedule cancellation,” producers Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni clarified. They further assured Jr NTR’s fan base that the film is progressing as planned, with only a routine preparation gap. “We request everyone not to believe or spread unverified information. Official updates will always come from us,” the producers promised.

Official updates are much needed. While the media has been referring to the film as Dragon, the title hasn’t come from the horse’s mouth as yet. Also, Rukmini Vasanth’s presence was informally confirmed by one of the producers at a Kantara event.
The next schedule will be carried out on a set in Hyderabad. For this important schedule, the RRR actor will be donning a slightly different look compared with that for previous schedules. A rumour has it that the Devara actor the leader of a cartel. If certain reports are anything to go by, the star hero will be playing a macho leader who comes from a mixed Telugu-Tamil background and lives somewhere in the north-eastern part of India, where a criminal nexus becomes a force to reckon with probably.
Months ago, producer Ravi Shankar called the script of Dragon “one of the most unique” he has seen. The film is being designed with some of the biggest action sequences in Indian cinema. A schedule in Jordan in February cost the makers a whopping Rs 1.5 crore per day.
