‘Mrs.’ Producer Harman Baweja On SIFF’s ‘Toxic Feminism’ Remark, ‘I’m Way Past Infuriated Stage…’

Sanya Malhotra’s Mrs. is making waves online, receiving praises for her authentic portrayal of a homemaker’s struggles. Several netizens found it relatable, while others appreciated it for highlighting key issues in the treatment of women in our society. However, there is a specific section of the audience, including a few organisations like SIFF (Save India Family Foundation) that believes that the movie has exaggerated the struggles of a housewife and promoting ‘toxic feminism’ in society. In a recent interview, the film’s producer, Harman Baweja, reacted to these claims.

Harman Baweja says he is hardly ‘infuriated’ over SIFF’s comments

A men’s rights organisation, Save Indian Family Foundation (SIFF), recently shared elaborate notes on X criticising Sanya Malhotra starrer Mrs.‘s plot. The allegations led to a debate online, and the film’s producer, Harman Baweja, recently sat down for an interview with News 18 India, responding to those claims. He revealed that he had already crossed the stage where he would be angry over such a statement. Explaining how he understands every household is different, Harman said:

“I’m way past the infuriated stage now. It will take a lot to infuriate me. Maybe that section of men is looking at this film as a solution and saying that this is the exact representation of all men, which isn’t necessarily true. If a film has a male and female character, it doesn’t mean all men and women are like that. Every house is unique. The fragrance, the etiquette, and the way food is served in every household will be different.”
