The Artemis II mission has been grabbing the headlines ever since its launch on April 1, 2026. The four astronauts who explored the moon for 10 days have now returned to Earth after a successful operation on April 10, 2026 (ET) with a Pacific Ocean splashdown. Interestingly, Operation Commander, Reid Wiseman’s late wife, Carroll Taylor Wiseman, became a part of the mission as his crewmate, Jeremy Hansen, named a lunar crater after her. Recently, just hours before the astronauts’ Earth touchdown, a rare pic of Reid and his wife surfaced.

Reid Wiseman and his wife, Carroll Taylor Wiseman, shared an enduring bond, which is evident from how warmly he speaks of her in interviews. It’s been over five years since she passed away in 2020; however, Reid and their two daughters’ love for her remains the same. His and his family, including his brother, Bill Wiseman’s comments on Carroll had been revisited amid the Artemis II mission. Just hours before Reid returned to Earth, a sweet couple pic with his wife surfaced on the internet. The image was provided to AP by the Wiseman family and has been widely circulated since.
