2026 is gearing up to be the year of outstanding Tamil web series. Well, adding to the collection is the upcoming crime series, Thadayam. For the unversed, it is an original series by ZEE5 and will mark the debut of actor-director, Samuthirakani. Recently, the streaming platform officially confirmed that Thadayam will premiere this month, in February 2026.
The plotline of Thadayam, is it based on real events?
According to reports online, Thadayam is believed to be inspired by real-life events. According to an Economic Times report, these incidents supposedly occurred in 1999 along the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border. Well, fans of crime series will be in for a ride as the plot of Thadayam centres around a string of brutal mu*ders which happen at midnight in a rural village. What’s interesting about it is that each of the crime scenes look eerily similar. This naturally leaves the authorities confused since the clues don’t lead them anywhere distinctive.
