Udit Narayan is embroiled in controversy after the viral kiss incident. Now, he’s in legal trouble. His first wife, Ranjana Jha, has reportedly filed a maintenance case against him. Jha has alleged that the singer infringed upon her rights and usurped her property. Udit recently attended a Family Court hearing over the matter and refused to settle.
As per a Navbharat Times report, Udit Narayan alleged that Ranjana Jha was attempting to extort money from him. For context, a case was filed against the singer in the Bihar Women’s Commission. The report maintained that Udit was providing financial support to Jha with a monthly allowance of Rs 15,000 which was increased to Rs 25,000. He also gave her farmland, a home worth Rs 1 crore, and jewellery worth Rs 25 lakh.
However, Ranjana accused Udit of keeping Rs 18 lakh from the sale of their land. She also alleged that during her visits to Mumbai, she has been receiving threats that left her feeling unsafe. She further shared that as she ages and her health declines, she wants to spend her remaining years with Udit.
