Will Dhurandhar: The Revenge Be 4 Hours Long?

The anticipation around Ranveer Singh’s upcoming action spy thriller, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has reached a new high. After the massive box office success of the first part, the makers are reportedly preparing to release a sequel that pushes the boundaries of cinematic length. According to the latest reports, the film is set to be nearly four hours long, making it one of the lengthiest Hindi films in recent history.

The first part of Dhurandhar surprised the industry with its runtime of 3 hours, 34 minutes, and 1 second (214.01 minutes). Despite its length, the film was a success. Now, the sequel is expected to go even further. Reports from Bollywood Hungama suggest that the film’s duration is approximately 235 minutes, which translates to 3 hours and 55 minutes. While some regions have heard rumours of a slightly shorter 3-hour-40-minute version, the consensus remains that the sequel will be longer than its previous part.

Dhurandhar The Revenge

If the 3-hour-55-minute runtime holds true, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will become the second-longest Hindi film in the last 26 years, trailing only J.P. Dutta’s LOC Kargil, which ran for 4 hours and 7 minutes. It would also surpass the runtime of the Oscar-nominated Lagaan, which clocked in at 3 hours and 44 minutes. Trade insiders suggest that this decision comes from audience demand, noting that viewers still can’t get enough of the franchise and that the second part is designed to hold the audience for an even longer stretch.

Fans won’t have to wait much longer for a glimpse of the action. The makers are reportedly eyeing March 3, coinciding with the festival of Holi for the trailer launch. Moving away from a traditional grand event, the trailer is expected to be a direct digital drop.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for release on March 19. However, it won’t be a solo run at the box office. The film is set for a major clash with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film stars Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, and Huma Qureshi, with its own trailer launch planned for March 8 in Bengaluru.
