Its plot revolves around three ambitious people and how their actions shape 17th-century Japan. The series swept a bunch of awards at the Emmys this year and for a good reason.
Hacks
Hacks keeps getting funnier with each passing season. In the third instalment, Jean Smart’s Deborah Vance and Hannah Einbinder deliver consistent performances as they navigate the cutthroat entertainment industry. The show is getting renewed for a fourth season and that says a lot about its popularity.
One Hundred Years of Solitude
The series adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez’s sprawling novel of the same name, One Hundred Years of Solitude is as breathtaking as it is magical. The makers bring the author’s world to life in a visually stunning series. While it isn’t always engaging, it remains worthy of a watch.
One Day
Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod made a splash with their easy chemistry in One Day. The series explores the relationship between Dexter and Emma from the spring of 1998. As the years go by, they make it a point to meet each other for one day. The show is as beautiful as it is heartbreaking. Go into this armed with tissues.
Baby Reindeer
Baby Reindeer became an instant sensation when it was released earlier this year. The semi-autobiographical series revolves around a struggling comedian who ends up offering a cup of tea to a stranger. He soon realises that the woman is obsessively stalking him. The show hooks you in from the first episode and there’s no turning back.
Nobody Wants This
This series left viewers swooning over the lead pair’s chemistry. Starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, the story revolves around an agnostic woman and a rabbi. As their romance develops, their differences lead to hilarious situations. Bell and Brody’s chemistry is palpable and enough to carry the whole show.
