A 23-year-old influencer, Sofia Devries, had a scuba diving adventure that turned fatal and took her life. She vanished while diving with her partner off the coast of Punta Cuevas in Argentina. Sofia Devries lost her life in February 2026, and now, her diving instructor, Thiago Nahuel Pocovi, 26, is facing charges of manslaughter in the death of the influencer. After she vanished under the sea, her body was found two days later. She was taking Scuba diving lessons off the coast of Argentina on February 16, 2026.
A court hearing was opened on July 6, 2026, and the scuba diving instructor appeared in the hearing virtually from Buenos Aires. The lawyer stated that he was in charge of a group of seven divers, and he violated the safety of the people and regulations that are needed for professional diving instructors.
