Malayalam mystery comedy movie, Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse, is scheduled to be released on OTT. It hit the theatres on January 23, 2025. The Mammootty starrer has been a rage among audience, who wanted it to be released on OTT as well.
The movie is scheduled to stream on Amazon Prime on March 7, 2025. While not much has been revealed about the movie’s release, it follows the story of Dominic, a former police officer who runs a detective agency. His landlady says that she will waive his rent if he finds the owner of a lost purse. He takes up the challenge to ease some monetary load. However, the task becomes growingly difficult when he finds out that the lost purse connects to an old case involving two missing people. He also unearths secrets while solving a complex mystery.
The movie is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The screenplay is by him, Neeraj Rajan, and Sooraj Rajan. The story is written by Neeraj Rajan. It is produced by Mammootty. The cinematography has been done by Vishnu Dev while Anthony has taken care of editing. The music has been composed by Darbuka Siva.
Mammootty plays the role of CI Dominic, a former police officer turned private detective. Gokul Suresh plays the role of his assistant, Vicky. The cast also includes Sushmitha Bhatt, Viji Venkatesh, Siddique, Vineeth, Vijay Babu, Meenakshi Unnikrishnan, and Shine Tom Chacko. During another interview, Mammootty has said that Dominic is a realistic and relatable character. He also said that Dominic is not a “so-called hero”. In a press meet, he had also explained that the character has his own set of problems.
Speaking about the film, Gautham Vasudev Menon said, “But my Malayalam debut had to happen at some point, and what better way than to do a film with Mammootty? So, it’s all good. I heard the story by Neeraj Rajan and I saw Mammootty in the role of Dominic.”
