
Kiran Bedi, a former tennis player, became the first Indian woman to join the officer ranks of the Indian Police Service. Kiran Bedi’s journey is truly inspirational, and she has also served as the 24th Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. In her personal life, Kiran Bedi got married to Brij Bedi in 1972. After a few years of their marital bliss, in 1975, Kiran and Brij welcomed their daughter, Saina Bedi. Recently, an investigation revealed Kiran ran a secret surveillance operation on her daughter back in 2003, which had grabbed the attention.

It was back in January 2003, when Kiran Bedi bagged the Ramon Magsasay award and was appointed as the civilian police advisor to the United Nations’ peacekeeping department. Later, Kiran and her daughter, Saina appeared on Simi Garewal’s show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal. Saina was asked what she had inherited as the daughter of Kiran Bedi. Saina said that she had inherited credibility, and to her, being her mom’s daughter means ‘instant courage and honesty’.
