On Wednesday, Akshay Kumar took to his social media handle to share a snap of himself in the get-up of a Kathakali dancer. The actor looks unrecognisable as he strikes a pose in the look. He captioned the post, “This is not a costume. It’s a symbol of tradition, of resistance, of truth, of my nation. C Sankaran Nair didn’t fight with a weapon. He fought the British Empire with the law – and with fire in his soul. This 18th APRIL, we bring you the court trial they never taught in textbooks.”

About Kesari Chapter 2
The trailer of Kesari Chapter 2 was launched in Delhi with the cast in attendance. It introduces Akshay Kumar as the lawyer and former Indian National Congress President C. Sankaran Nair. As the hearing about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre begins, Nair questions General Dyer. R Madhavan plays the fierce opposition lawyer Neville McKinley. The two are poised for a face-off in the courtroom. Meanwhile, Ananya Panday stands out as lawyer Dilreet Gill, and she’s unafraid to call out the men in the male-dominated field. From what we’ve seen so far, the film is a riveting courtroom drama that will revisit one of the darkest chapters of Indian history.
Kesari Chapter 2 will release in theatres on April 18, 2025.
