Exclusive: Niddhi Agerwal Gets Candid About Work-life Balance and 8-hour Shift Debates in Cinema

Niddhi Agerwal has added her voice to the ongoing conversation around work-life balance and 8-hour shift demands in the film industry. She has offered her honest and personal perspective during a candid interaction with Filmfare. The actor reflected on a physically demanding phase in her career when she was simultaneously juggling two major projects.

At the time, Niddhi was shooting for The RajaSaab while also filming Hari Hara Veera Mallu with Pawan Kalyan. The schedule, she revealed, left little room for rest but was a choice she made consciously. Speaking about that period, Niddhi said, “While I was shooting for this film (The RajaSaab), I was doing another film with Pawan Kalyan sir. It’s called Hari Hara Veera Mallu. I was doing double shift for a week and a half. So I would do morning shift there and evening to night shift here. Then ‘d have to travel by car because there was no flights at that time for six hours. So I did that for a week and a half. Not complaining. Not throwing it at everybody’s faces that I’m working so hard.”

Niddhi added, “So I feel like, right now, I’m in a space where I feel like doing this. Having said that, I’m not married and I don’t have kids. So I don’t know what is going to be like on the other side. Maybe my priorities will change at that point of time. But right now, I’m happy to shoot and work hard without putting it on everybody’s head that this is what I’m doing.”

Niddhi’s comments arrive at a time when the industry is increasingly debating regulated work hours, physical burnout and mental well-being. Rather than taking a rigid stance, the actor emphasised that every artiste’s circumstances are different and choices often depend on where one is in life.

The RajaSaab is releasing on January 9, 2026.
