BLACKPINK have officially confirmed their long-awaited group comeback. The global K-pop sensation will release a new mini album titled Deadline on February 27 via YG Entertainment. The album shares its name with the group’s ongoing world tour, signalling a full-circle return for the quartet after years focused on solo projects.
Deadline marks BLACKPINK’s third mini album, following Square Up (2018) and Kill This Love (2019). Their last full-length album, Born Pink, was released in 2022 and went on to dominate global charts. The group teased the upcoming release through a short video on social media, though the official track list is yet to be revealed.
The mini album is expected to include Jump, BLACKPINK’s comeback single released in July. The high-energy track brought together an extensive list of collaborators, including TEDDY, Diplo, 24, Claudia Valentina and others. Production credits feature Diplo, Boaz Van De Beatz, Zecca and Ape Drums, reinforcing the group’s signature global sound.
Since the release of Born Pink, the members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa have largely pursued individual careers. Rosé released her solo album Rosie, which featured the hit track “Apt” with Bruno Mars. Lisa dropped her solo record Alter Ego and also made her acting debut in the latest season of The White Lotus. Jennie unveiled her solo project Ruby, while Jisoo released her EP Amortage, showcasing each member’s distinct musical identity.
The announcement of Deadline coincides with BLACKPINK’s massive world tour, which marks their official return as a group. The tour began at Seoul’s Goyang Stadium and continues with upcoming shows in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Last year, BLACKPINK made history as the first K-pop girl group to headline London’s Wembley Stadium, where they paid tribute to the Spice Girls with a performance of “Wannabe.”
With Deadline, BLACKPINK’s comeback signals a new chapter for one of the most influential girl groups of the generation.
