Mark Carney is one of the world’s leading politicians right now. For those unaware, he was sworn into office as the Prime Minister of Canada a year ago, in 2025. Notably, he is the 24th Prime Minister that the country has seen to date. Prior to this, Carney has also served as leader of the Liberal Party and as a member of parliament for Nepean. Additionally, before his tenure as Prime Minister, he allegedly served as an informal advisor to former Canadian PM, Justin Trudeau during the COVID-19 pandemic. Within a year as Prime Minister, Mark Carney has pulled off some incredible feats like repealing the federal consumer carbon tax, relaxing environmental regulations, and enacting the One Canadian Economy Act, to name a few.
Recently, Carney has been grabbing the headlines for his address at the 56th Annual Summit of the World Economic Forum (WEF). Claiming that the US-led global system of governance is enduring “a rupture”, the Canadian Prime Minister warned that the rules-based international order, which greatly shaped world affairs for years, is coming to an end. Interestingly, his speech came just a day before the US President, Donald Trump, was set to appear in front of the gathering in Davos. Now, with the entire world’s attention on Mark Carney and his political front, let’s take a look at who his wife, Diana Fox Carney, is.
