Firing Outside Director Rohit Shettys Mumbai Residence Probe Underway

Following four rounds of firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence, the Mumbai Crime Branch has constituted 12 special teams to track down the suspects involved. The incident occurred on Sunday, when unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire outside Shetty’s home in Mumbai. Following the incident, a heavy police deployment was put in place around his Juhu residence. Officials secured the premises and conducted a detailed forensic examination of the area. While no injuries were reported and no harm was caused to the filmmaker or his family, the incident has raised serious concerns, prompting authorities to explore all possible angles as the investigation continues.

This is not the first time shots have been fired outside the residence of a Bollywood celebrity. Around four months ago, a similar incident occurred outside actress Disha Patani’s Uttar Pradesh residence. Gangster Goldy Brar reportedly claimed responsibility for the same.

Gunshots were also fired outside superstar Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence in 2024.

Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty is one of Bollywood’s most commercially successful directors. He is best known for blockbuster franchises like Golmaal and Singham, as well as action-packed entertainers such as Chennai Express, Sooryavanshi and Cirkus. A household name for his larger-than-life filmmaking style and gravity-defying stunt sequences, Shetty has also made a mark on television with Khatron Ke Khiladi. Police officials have confirmed that inquiries are underway, and efforts are being intensified to identify those responsible for the firing, with multiple teams working in parallel to piece together leads.
