The trailer for the much-awaited theatrical release of Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is out. The visually stunning animated film inspired by Valmiki’s epic Ramayana is an Indian-Japanese anime film.

Ramayana was created by Yugo Sako and directed by Koichi Sasaki and Ram Mohan. Its making reportedly involved 1,00,000 hand-drawn artworks and the efforts of over 450 artistes. The film was initially released on television in 1992.
The original Hindi voice cast had Shatrughan Sinha as narrator, Arun Govil lent his voice for Rama, Namrata Sawhney voiced Sita and the late Amrish Puri voiced Raavan.
Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama will be released in theatres in 4K on January 24, 2025.
