Actress Payal Rajput walked out of a film promotion event on Tuesday in Hyderabad after being asked a question related to her health challenges, anxiety, and personal struggles. In her response, she spoke about her father’s cancer diagnosis and how she sought Vipassana meditation at a camp in Jaipur eight months ago to cope.

Payal Rajput inconsolable
While Payal Rajput tried to hold back her tears, she was unable to continue. Overcome with emotion, she became tearful and eventually left the venue. “When my father got diagnosed with cancer, it was a very painful situation for the entire family, particularly my mom. I was completely shattered. I didn’t know how to console my mom or myself. He was the hero of my life,” the Telugu-Punjabi actress shared, struggling to continue. Her co-star, seated next to her, tried to comfort her.
“I am strong. Recently, a Punjabi film got released. My father was my biggest critic. He loved my film RX 100 even though it was quite bold. He used to tell me I was a brilliant actor. He is not there with me now,” Payal added. Many netizens criticised the framing of the question by the journalist, saying there was no need to bring up career setbacks while asking about her personal struggles.

Missing brother
Payal has also gone through emotional hardship after her brother went missing in 2016. In January 2019, she shared, “Not a single day passes without thinking of you,” while expressing hope of receiving information about his whereabouts. The actress now awaits the release of First Time. After starting in Hindi television with shows like Sapnon Se Bhare Naina, Payal made a sensational Telugu debut with the 2018 hit RX 100. Her filmography also includes projects like Venky Mama, RDX Love, and the 2023 thriller Mangalavaaram, which marked another major success in Telugu cinema.
