Fans are greatly excited for the Akshay Kumar starrer Bhooth Bangla. The final release date for the movie was announced some time back, with the makers confirming that the movie will be released on April 10, 2026. As per a recent report by Variety India, the movie will now be releasing at a later date in April.
Bhooth Bangla is also special because Akshay Kumar is reuniting with director Priyadarshan after 14 years. As per the report, the producers are taking the decision to postpone the movie’s release to April 17, 2026 due to Dhurandhar’s current craze and obsession. The report states, “The producers of Bhooth Bangla realized the challenges in taking on the Ranveer Singh-starrer. And it’s a good business decision. It’s a win for the producers as well as the industry. Even ‘Toxic’ had avoided a clash with the Aditya Dhar directorial. There should be no ego involved in such decisions. Ektaa’s mom Shobha Kapoor fully supports this decision.”
It further adds, “The postponement of Bhooth Bangla was driven purely by the need for breathing space at the box office. The trailer launch of the film, initially scheduled for March 30, now stands cancelled for the time being, with new plans of unveiling it in the first week of April.”
The makers have rejected the reports, nor have they shared an update on the same. While the release remains dicey, Filmfare had previously exclusively revealed that Bhooth Bangla will have references to Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s previous movies. The writer of the film, Rohan Shankar, told us, “I am big fan of these people. I used to show them memes from their previous movies while shooting. I am a meme person. I still send memes of Akshay (Kumar) sir. Our WhatsApp chat is full of those memes. So, on one or two occasions, I tried to implement some of the legendary lines. But only when it came naturally. I did not force any line where it did not fit. But you know, I could not control myself.”
