At the time, Johnny Galecki’s character, ‘Leonard’, and Kaley Cuoco’s character, ‘Penny’, had just broken up an episode earlier, at the end of The Wheaton Recurrence. By the time they began filming for the next episode, The Spaghetti Catalyst, Johnny and Kaley had broken up in real life too.
