According to a report by Variety India, Kill 2 is in the works, with lead actor Lakshya returning to reprise his role as the NSG commando, Amrit Rathod. Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment have reportedly finalized the story for the upcoming sequel. Pre-production is scheduled to begin in September of this year. While the first film set a high bar for brutality and grounded action, the makers are looking to expand the universe. The sequel is expected to follow a narrative model similar to the Extraction franchise, placing Lakshya’s character in an entirely new setting and timeline while maintaining the raw intensity that made the original a hit.
However, the sequel will see a major change behind the camera. Sources have said that Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, who directed the original Kill, will not be returning for the second part. The director is reportedly committed to his next project featuring Sunny Deol, which is set to begin filming around the same time. While the producers are currently in talks with several filmmakers to take over the mantle, no replacement has been finalized as of yet.

The scale of Kill 2 is expected to be much larger, promising another spectacle of close-quarters combat against a formidable gang of adversaries. To prepare for the role, Lakshya will undergo rigorous physical training to master new fighting techniques before filming starts in the second half of 2026.
On the work front, Lakshya is also currently filming Raj Mehta’s Lag Jaa Gale alongside Tiger Shroff and Janhvi Kapoor. Meanwhile, casting for other lead characters in Kill 2 is currently underway.
The original Kill enjoyed global success after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023, where it was the first runner-up for the People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award. The film grossed nearly $60 million worldwide and has even attracted interest for an English remake by the producers of John Wick.
