Verity Teaser: Anne Hathaway Kisses Dakota Johnson in Chilling Glimpses

In the beginning of the teaser, Hathaway (Verity Crawford) warns Johnson. She says, “Even with my continuous warning, you’re going to continue to ingest my words. But know one thing: There is no light where we are going. Darkness ahead.” The teaser flaunts a relationship between Johnson (Lowen Ashleigh) and Hartnett (Jeremy Crawford), which slowly transforms into an erotic romance between Johnson and Hathaway. In one of the scenes, Johnson is taken aback as she is bitten, with Hathaway looking back at her with a smirk. The glimpses show tension between the individuals, who seem to be entangled in a mysterious romance.

Verity is directed by Michael Showalter. Alongside the lead cast, it also stars Nicholas Galitzine, Ella Rubin, Annie Mumolo and Reid Scott. The screenplay has been written by Nick Antosca. It is co-produced by Hathaway, alongside Antosca, Gabi Lane, Alex Hedlund, Showalter, Jordana Mollick, Hoover and Stacey Sher.

Verity is one of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novels. The movie’s logline, as per Variety, reads, “Upon arrival at the lavish Crawford estate, Lowen slowly learns that things are not exactly as they seem with the discovery of a secret, unfinished manuscript that may divulge chilling admissions about the family’s past. As Lowen ingratiates herself with Jeremy and his young son Crew, she must discern if Verity’s writings are merely lurid works of fiction or an ominous warning by a deranged psychopath.”
