Currently expecting her second child with Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone is reportedly continuing her professional commitments, though some changes are being made to her upcoming film Raaka’s intense action schedules.
According to reports by Bollywood Hungama, director Atlee is reworking portions of the film to accommodate Deepika’s filming schedule. With approximately 50 days of shoot remaining for the project, the team has established a Plan B to ensure the actress’s safety without compromising the film’s high-octane vision.
The report states that Atlee is over the moon about the news of Deepika’s pregnancy and has collaborated with his team to adjust the upcoming shooting blocks. The main shift involves the film’s demanding stunt work.
The report says, “Most of the key action sequences featuring Deepika will now be done using her body double. The actress has already given some close-up sequences and the same will be merged using VFX for the final print.”
While a body double will handle the heavy physical lifting, Deepika remains central to the story. She will reportedly continue to film her close-ups and dialogue-heavy portions to maintain the character’s emotional depth. She is set to have a major entry sequence and key moments alongside Allu Arjun, which will now be executed using a combination of stunt doubles and advanced post-production techniques to ensure seamless continuity.
This approach isn’t a first for the star, who has previously utilized stunt doubles for complex sequences in films like Pathaan. For Raaka, Atlee has promised fans they will see a very different Deepika on the big screen. On the work front, Deepika will also be seen in King which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in key roles among others. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film will release in theatres on December 24. The movie also marks Deepika’s 6th collaboration with Shah Rukh with whom she has starred in hits like Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Happy New Year.
