Model and actress, Twisha Sharma’s untimely death has garnered nationwide attention. Twisha was a 31-year-old Noida-based professional who was found deceased on May 12, 2026, in her marital home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills. Her death, which was initially suspected as suicide, has triggered intense reactions and theories. Twisha’s family contested the suicide claims and alleged severe dowry harassment, physical and mental torment, and murder. Now, the case has deepened with new angles regarding her husband’s disappearance surfacing.
Twisha Sharma’s husband was allegedly not on the run
Twisha Sharma’s husband, Samarth Singh’s lawyer, Mrigendra Singh, explicitly argued that his client was not hiding or on the run. In an interview with NDTV, the defence attorney said that Samarth was exercising his legal right to seek protection under the law. He specifically cited Section 482 of the new Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). According to the legal expert, the particular right can be availed by those who have been wrongfully accused of something they are not related to. Mrigendra mentioned they wanted to request liberty from the court first, but he ultimately advised Samarth to surrender once those options were no longer viable. He stated:
“He was not hiding. There’s a provision under section 482 of the new BNSS that gives every person the right to apply for anticipatory bail if he has been unnecessarily made an accused in a case that has no nexus with the person. So he availed that right, but then I advised him to better surrender.”
