Netflix’s The Crash brought the highly publicised Ohio criminal case of Mackenzie Shirilla, a 17-year-old (now 21) back to the discussions. She was convicted of dual murder after intentionally slamming her car into a brick building at 100 mph, killing her boyfriend, Dominic Russo and his friend, Davion Flanagan. Notably, she maintained that the crash was just an accident; however, she was convicted of the crime and might even face a lifetime imprisonment. Recently, one of her jail inmates, claiming to be her ex, made some explosive allegations against her.
Mackenzie Shirilla wanted to get physical with an ex-cellmate within two to three days of dating
A woman named Shyann Topping, who served time with Mackenzie Shirilla at the Ohio Reformatory for Women and claimed to be her ex, told PEOPLE that she and the subject of The Crash initially shared a strong bond. Shyann recalled noticing her right away after she was transferred to the jail. Both were allegedly attracted to each other, and their relationship began when Shyann gave her a small compliment. Recalling their first meeting and interaction, she told PEOPLE:
“I walked up to her [Mackenzie Shirilla] and said, ‘You look good.'”
