
Alaskan Bush People star, Matt Brown passed away at the age of 42. Initially, Matt Brown’s brother, Bear Brown, took to his social media handle and revealed that Matt was missing, while adding that he had a suspicion that the former had passed away and the cause of his death might have been suicide.
Following this, on May 31, 2026, Matt Brown’s body was discovered in the Okanogan River in Washington state. However, the official cause of his death has not been revealed. It was on June 3, 2026, when the officially confirmed reason for Matt Brown’s death was shared, and it was a suicide.
Matt Brown’s official cause of death has been revealed
The Okanogan County coroner’s office confirmed to PEOPLE that Matt Brown passed away from suicide. According to the report, subsequent immersion in the water and the influence of methamphetamine were cited as the contributing factors to Matt’s death at the age of 42. To mention, Bear Brown, Matt’s brother, had suspected that he had passed away due to suicide, while adding that he was not able to wrap his head around the fact that his brother could take such a drastic step. Later, he also said that it was seemingly from a self-inflicted wound that Matt passed away.
