According to an excerpt from JD Vance’s upcoming book obtained by the Wall Street Journal, he reflected on the emotional aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s sudden assassination in September 2025. He also recalled an important conversation between Usha and Erika that eventually left a lasting impact on their family. Recalling the moment when he and Usha flew down with Erika after Charlie’s demise, JD said:
“As my wife held Charlie Kirk’s widow on the first day of her terrible sorrow, Erika told Usha between sobs that she regretted having only two kids with Charlie.”
