The AIIMS medical board had conducted a second post-mortem and has submitted its forensic report to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The report submitted on July 10, 2026, cited that Twisha’s skin tissue was found on the alleged ligature material of a gymnastics belt fitted with a metal ring.

The AIIMS medical board carried out laboratory and histopathological examinations, during which it was found that Twisha’s skin tissue matched the alleged ligature material, a gymnastics belt with a metal ring. The report was submitted on July 10, 2026, in relation to directions from the Madhya Pradesh High Court. It did address a major forensic dispute related to the ligature material which was used in the hanging. Twisha’s recent post-mortem report has been sent in a sealed cover to the CBI and has marked a very important development in the suicide case of Twisha Sharma.

The AIIMS Delhi medical board had submitted an 11-page forensic report to the CBI, and Dr Sudhir Gupta, head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at AIIMS Delhi, had confirmed.
